The 4-week support group that helps grievers with
hands-on activities and a mindful approach
In this 4-session course, participants will learn about a mindful practice that helps them cope with their emotional roller coaster. Through hands-on activities, they will connect their feelings and express their private thoughts. Active mourning in a safe environment will build resilience and cultivate healing. In the last session, participants will create a vision for their future and plan the first few steps toward achieving it.
This support group is limited to a small number of participants to build intimacy.
Course Objectives

Connect with feelings and express them in a safe environment.

Understand that various disturbing feelings are natural parts of the grief journey and expressing them promotes healing.

Learn how to deal with emotional ups and downs.

Cultivate resilience and clarity through hands-on activities and interaction with fellow grievers.

Create a vision for the future and start moving forward.
Weekly Objectives
Week 1: Memorial Project
Participants will discuss memorial ideas and the importance of keeping their treasured memories alive. They will also be introduced to a mindful practice that helps them cope with their emotional roller coaster.
Week 2: Letter Writing
Participants will write a letter to the person of their choice (e.g., the person they lost, a family member to share about the deceased, a religious figure) to give voice to their feelings and thoughts.
Week 3: Journaling
Participants will write down their private thoughts and feelings and track the progress in their grief journeys.
Week 4: Walking Towards the Future
Participants will create a vision for their future and identify the first few steps toward achieving it.

Registration is required by March 3. Limited seating. Registration will close when the group has reached its maximum capacity.

Surapsari (“Sari”) Fujimaru is a certified facilitator for Facing the Mourning©, the four-week grief support group program created by the HeartLight Center in Denver, Colorado. Sari is also a Board Certified Coach (certified by the Center for Credentialing and Education). She helps people find peace and clarity during their challenging transition and create a harmonious and fulfilling new life. She has been teaching mindful arts and meditation for 15 years.
